That goes way back in their history. They also have the doctors on salary, so they aren't payed by how many tests they order. The doctors who work there have to be happy with the system of working together. We can all be happy when there is good communication between various providers.

But the electronic system can have glitches as well. Today I went to pick up my prescription from my pharmacy written by my primary care provider. Unfortunately, there had been a mistake on the electronic records at the consultants office, resulting in additional bottles of pills waiting for me. If I wasn't astute, I could have ended up taking 2x the amount of this medication. Too high of a blood level can result in serious heart problems. The print out that that clinic had handed me showed that they were prescribing this medication, but it was never mentioned in the interview. I had intended to mention it to them during the next visit. I know how the mistake happened: the intake RN typed it in wrong.LoieJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01977264499770654307noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22004751.post-26947926033616880232009-09-02T16:40:11.587-05:002009-09-02T16:40:11.587-05:00Indeed the present age is the age of virtual reali...Indeed the present age is the age of virtual reality. Every Doctor I saw had the results of every test I had taken and what every Doctor I had seen had observed at their fingertips. It saved time. It was very helpful.
In my present system my lung Doctor in Oshkosh can access all the tests and Dr.'s notes made by my Primary Care Physician in Neenah. That means tests don't have to be duplicated.
Little by little they are building a workable system.Dr.Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02752941912945095736noreply@blogger.com
