What about these tea parties

I happen to think that our taxes are what buys us our mostly good, mostly clean government, our mostly clean environment, our defense, our parks, our great roads, etc. and taxes are what pay the salaries of government workers. Yes, there could be different ways the money could be spent. And there are programs I'm against. But our government takes care of our old people and our disabled people. All in all, we get a lot in this country, including our freedom to protest. And lets not forget that! So do the protesters have some positive agenda or are they just for show and release of emotion? Here's one take on the opposition party.

And read this. Someone agrees with me. April 15: Patriots' day.

And the other side of the coin.

  1. I get lost in it all. I am very gullible and tend to believe both sides which makes no sense.

  2. What annoys me the most is the people who rant and rave over taxes -too high, unfair, etc., etc. and that our govt. employees are all corrupt, we need less govt. in our lives, also want the police to be at their beck and call, as well as many of the offices in govt. that they feel are still needed to be staffed and those people be well-trained and courteous. THey also don't want those same people to be paid a decent wage though. Same theories also apply to the teachers all to often too. Anyone who is a recipient of tax dollars should automatically be worth less. But also, expected to do more. I'm not overly fond of paying taxes but at the same time, I do realize the need for those monies to provide us with the amenities we need -and yes, often want or expect too. But, if someone were to suggest that those who think taxes are unfair be expected to do their jobs for less money, I don't think they'd look too kindly on that aspect either, do you?
Sometimes, considering all the things we do have in this country, things we do take for granted all too often, perhaps we should have to concede some of those freedoms and see if the lower tax thing is really worth having after all. Just a thought.
