Our church office reports the following for our Vacation Bible School: 69 – 82 children attended every day with over 70 teachers and helpers (adults and students from the two cooperating churches) daily. The total offerings received was $600 which will be divided between a local need and a school in Uganda, Africa.
I am always amazed at the creativity, energy, and caring of all the helpers, especially the leaders of our VBS. As usual, I worked in the background. This year, I was out of town for the week and missed the fun.
Each year we have more and more kids in VBS, and then we wonder where all the kids vanish to when school starts in the fall. It is understood that several of the kids are friends or relatives of our members, but many are also from families that we see only a few times a year.
ReplyDeleteWe need to figure out how to reach these people during the rest of the year as well.
