Our Lenten service this evening focused on hunger and the food eaten in various parts of the world, its cost and availability. After the discussion, our pastor showed a video about traveling to other countries that was pulled from the web, although I think it was produced for our church wide body.
I agree with what seems to be the underlying assumption that you can't really begin to understand another place without seeing it.
Was Rick Steves the narrator? I really enjoy his "Travels in Europe" on PBS. And he's a good Lootern who's done broadcasting work for the ELCA.
