The Right, The Left, is there any Center?

Whose "right" anyway? Can you be right if you are Left? Can you be civil if you are Right or Left? Here's a good essay on the discourse of the day.

  1. Ah, so you follow the wisdom of Dr. John too? I really appreciate how he can put things into perspective and do it in a thoroughly civilized manner too as he gets his point across.

  2. I dislike the fact that many people proclaim themselves on one side or the other and then adhere rigidly to their sides' issues, without considering common sense or critical thinking. I find that staying in the center is the best way to remain objective and level-headed.

  3. Sad to say, at the advent of the Bush II administration, I most definitely continued to subscribe to the to the tenets of the essay I just read. It also coincided with the professional responsibilities of teaching social studies to high school students. Retirement, 8 years of Bush and a few evenings watching Fix news have lead me to adopt an ultimate disdain for, shall I say, the "wingnut on theright."
